There has been information circulating that a new scam is hitting hotel/motel guests. The scam involves a person who calls the hotel/motel room’s phone and says they’re from the front desk. The caller tells the person in the room that the hotel’s computer is down and they need all of the individual’s information again. If the victim says they’ll go to the lobby, the caller will say the lobby is full of people. It has been reported the scam has been successful in stealing people’s credit card information.
Never give out personal information over the phone. If this happens to you, go straight to the front desk to report the call.
