Year end~Jess

The end of the semester is FINALLY here.
We go to school for several months every day. We do tons of homework, struggle with tests, and fight through those "pop quizzes" all for this one last week: "finals week." Everything I've learned throughout the year will be tested this week. Many people fear finals week, but I love it. It gives me an opportunity to show that I've learned the subject that the teachers have been trying to teach me all year (unless it's math that we're talking about!)
Every year, people ask, "So what's you're goal in school this year?" Many people reply: "I want to get good grades in all my classes." That's a great goal; it really is. But I have met many people who received high marks in their classes without learning a single thing. So, when someone asks me what my goals in school are, I say, "I want to learn." If I get a B in a class, which I may actually receive this semester in one of my classes, that's okay to me if I've LEARNED the subject. Learning the material means more to me than an A.
So here come finals. Here comes my opportunity to show that I've learned. Hopefully, that translates into A's, but we'll see...
I'm off to study more. I see a couple of all-nighters in the near future!

Jessie is graduating

This year went pretty well. I had fun in my classes and had good experiences along the way. I’ve made a lot of great friends here and love ‘em lots! I’ll miss it here but I’m excited to graduate this semester! I am moving down to Logan Utah to study elementary education at Utah State University. Go Aggies! I will be moving down there a few days after graduation. I don’t have a job lined out yet, but I’m hopeful. I’ve

never moved before; I’ve lived in this area all my life. I’m excited to get a taste of big city life. I don’t know everything I’ll run into but it will be an adventure and experience every day. I’m thankful for all the people here at Central who have supported me and helped me in the past two years. I couldn’t have made it without them. I really will miss this place!

Year end~Chloe

Hello again CWC Blogspot! ChloƩ checking in!

The year is winding down and finals are in our midst. After reflecting on the year that has just flown by, I can’t imagine a better place to begin my higher education. Ever teacher I have had the opportunity to work with has just been spectacular! Everyone at CWC is very attentive to my needs as a student, especially as a first time student. They could see the look of confusion in my eyes those first few days, and they reminded me that it’s ok to be a little anxious about school. Were there stressful times this year? Absolutely! Were there awesome times when I got to play on a Slip ‘n Slide or learn how to belly dance? Uh…yeah!

I think the reason why this year has been such a success in my eyes, is because I made the most of it. I got involved! I didn’t mope around in my dorm, I got out. I met new people; I learned new things…and not just book learning either.

When deciding on what to study at CWC, that was easy. I knew that I’d graduate with a degree, but I reminded myself that what I choose now doesn’t have to be the rest of my life. Just typing that sentence made me stressed! I knew that I had to choose something I would enjoy, that I would love! I had to choose something that interested me; something I could be excited about. Believe it or not, I wanted to go to class! It’s easy to go to classes when you’re excited about what you’re learning. Are my majors that applicable to any job, not really but what major is? I love what I’m studying! I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Though I have just adored this first year of college, I am definitely ready for summer! Hot sun and cool lake, here I come!

Amara is graduating

I can't believe it's the end of the year already. I feel like it has flown by!

I am graduating next Friday, and I can't believe it. I knew I would get to this point, but it feels surreal. I have spent many years of my life in the theater department and the past 3 years finishing my degrees here at CWC. I didn't realize it would end, until recently. It has been a great year though. Fiddler on the Roof was a perfect experience, filled with good and bad moments. Student Senate accomplished a lot this year. Quality Leaders was also fun. The opportunities I have been given are incredible and I will miss CWC. However, it is time for me to move on, and everyone has prepared me for the next step in my life. Thank you. There will always be a part of me here. :) It has been a phenomenal experience.

Always,

Year End~Hailey

As my first year at Central Wyoming College is coming to an end I find myself very excited for summer. The last two to three weeks of a semester are always very stressful and this semester has been no exception. I have a few more papers to wrap up and three final exams to take. Once these things are finished I will be able to relax and enjoy summer vacation. I don’t have many big plans for this summer. I will continue to work in the Admissions office at CWC. At the end of July I am going on a cruise with some of my family and friends so I am very excited for that trip. Other then that, I hope to relax and prepare for the fall semester. My first year at CWC was a great year that I will remember forever.

The year ending for Sharrayah

Hey everyone! Wow, it is so crazy that this semester is almost at an end! Only one more weeks to go! It has been so much fun getting through this semester and preparing myself for that which is to come this fall. I am half way through with my Associates of Applied Science for Graphic Design, (that’s a mouthful!) Although this summer all I am doing is working at Wal-Mart to save money and camping…A LOT…it is going to feel good to take a break from the art pieces I’ve been designing and creating. This summer is also going to be a good time for me to create some pieces using the things that I have been taught. There is so much to learn about art!

I am just very grateful that the Quality Leader Scholarship has helped me get on the track to achieve my dreams of becoming an artist. Plus, on top of the scholarship, through the Q.L., I have met some great people and had a wonderful time participating.

Well I’ve got to go get ready for work so I hope to see everyone reading this during the upcoming fall semester! Peace!

Correction

A bit slow with this correction...

The MSN picture (see previous post) is mislabeled and is not Ty.  It is believed that the photo is of Whitten Hoover of Chadron.

It does not detract from the great picture though!

Year End!~Janelle

Hey! My name is Janelle Rottweiler, and I was a CWC Quality Leader this last school year. As the school year comes to a close it makes me reflect back on my experience at Central and as a first time college student. Because of the high school credits I was able to bring with me from Riverton High School, I will graduate it just one year! Central was a great start for me, one that I am sure to really appreciate as I continue my education. I had great teachers, great classes, and I met great people. I made life-long friends and created memories that will last a lifetime. I learned a lot about myself and had tons of fun doing it. I made money working on campus and had extra scholarship money, I mean how many college kids make money? It is really awesome! I got to explore new options in my life—ones that I wouldn’t have got to try anywhere else. Central was a great start for me and I would recommend it to any graduating senior.

Year ending-Britnea

My name is Britnea and I am finishing up my first year of the two year associates degree nursing program. As this semester comes to an end, I am getting ready for finals and course evaluations. I still have 5 tests left to take and am trying to study hard for them.

I have just finished up clinicals at the RMH for this semester and am glad I now have more time to study. The last day of clinicals was a fun day of practicing skills. The couple of hours consisted of practicing shots and IV's on each other, practicing other miscellaneous tasks that we felt we were weaker in, and a few fun races for prizes. All in all, this has been a great semester; I learned a LOT and had fun at the same time.

I have recently obtained a job at the RMH as a CNA in the obstetrics department. I will continue to work at this job full-time for the summer; it will also give me more experience when I return to CWC in the fall semester.
