Nurses Pinning May 13

Central Wyoming College graduates a class of 25 nurses Thursday, May 13 at the 26th annual CWC Nurses’ Pinning in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre.

The 7 p.m. ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of the nursing class one night before commencement, which is held in the Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15. 

Following the presentation of pins, CWC Interim Vice President for Academics John Wood presents awards for academic excellence, clinical excellence and the Professionalism in Nursing Award.
The candidates include Susan M. Anderson, Tara Blumenshine, Brittany Countryman, Kimberly A. Crumly, Laura A. Daniels, Lisa D. Doherty, Kylie Jo Emerson, Keri L. Foster, Dani Geer, Stacey Hayden, Megan G. Kennedy, Olga Khvorova, Amber Loughlin, Chrissy Madrid, Clara M. Ortiz, Christina Laird-Rogers, Lori Selph, Gina Marie Devlin-Vincent, Ginger Walsh and Jeanny Wanner.

Graduating from the CWC nursing program in Jackson are Karla Noel Hanson, Iannette “Yan” Chan Olais, Barbara Berges, Barbara Ellen Tkach, and Rebekah Ruth Weinzetl. These students will be honored at a separate pinning ceremony Sunday, May 16 at the Center for the Arts in Jackson at 6 p.m.

While the graduates have student RN status, they don’t officially become RNs until passing the national licensure examination, which a majority will take this summer.
