QL student is a member of Rodeo team

Hey everybody!  My name is Danni Jo Hinman, and I’m a freshman this year studying athletic training and sports medicine and I’m also a member of the rodeo team. Want to know something cool about CWC?  Our women’s rodeo team is leading the nation in point standings! That’s right, the nation!

Now, what you may not know is that rodeo is unlike any other sport by this I mean there is no ‘class’ or ‘conference’ we compete against the whole united states at the College National Finals Rodeo(CNFR) in June. The way to get to the CNFR is to either qualify for it in each individual event, or to be the top 2 teams in each region.

If you are ever interested in coming to watch how we practice then stop by the equine center any day of the week at 5:30pm. Mondays and Wednesday the boys ride bucking horses and bulls, and we also team rope, then on Tuesdays and Thursdays the girls breakaway and goat tie while the boys calf rope.  Our coaches are: Rick and Lynn Smith and Drew Schrock.
